Genevieve was raised in a household practicing meditation and devotional yoga. Growing up she continuously came to yoga and pilates as her main form of exercise, becoming more disciplined in her practice because of its mindful benefits in 2001. Genevieve completed her 1st 200 hour YogaSource, Yoga Alliance Certified, training with Linda McGrath, Fall 2011. She is currently pursuing 500 hour certification SmartFlow with Annie Carpenter in Venice, CA.
Her classes are influenced by Genevieve's teacher, Annie Carpenter and her SmartFlow yoga methodology. They involve smart, deliberate, intelligent sequencing; concentrating heavily on alignment, strength building and pranayama (breath control). From her love for the practice, she encourages you to find the connection to all, by simply starting where you are, connecting to your breath unique in each moment. She welcomes you to find the sweetness and challenge in simplicity. Emphasizing that the yoga is not the postures, but the awareness and the integrity of your movement.
A pastry chef for six years before teaching yoga, her voracious appetite for food extends to her quest of living life to the fullest. Genevieve finds solace in the solitude of the mountains, hiking, camping, and seeks to grow at snowboarding.
Teaching in North Lake Tahoe 2011-2013, she is now in the bay area, grateful for all her teachers past and present.
